Lingam massage is a tantric massage for men in which, after a relaxing full-body massage, the masseuse focuses on the male intimate area. It comes from tantric massage, so a slow pace, breathing and mindfulness matter more than speed. Below we explain what the word “lingam” means, what a session looks like step by step, how lingam massage differs from tantric massage and how much it costs at our salon, Rose & Wine in Warsaw.
Lingam – what does the word mean?
“Lingam” (Sanskrit liṅga) literally means a sign or symbol. The word has two main meanings:
- In Hinduism, the lingam is a symbol of the god Shiva – often an oval stone (the so-called Shiva lingam) worshipped in temples and used in meditation.
- In tantra, lingam is the word for masculinity and the male sexual organ, treated with respect as a source of life energy. This is where the name of the massage comes from.
Its female counterpart is the yoni, and the massage for women is called yoni massage.
How does lingam massage work?
Lingam massage combines full-body relaxation with a focus on male energy. In the tantric tradition its goal is not quick pleasure but deep relaxation, releasing tension and a better connection with your own body. The key elements are:
- Calm and breath. Slow, deep breathing helps you stop thinking and start feeling.
- Full-body relaxation. The session starts with a massage of the back, legs, arms and feet – the body has to relax first.
- Focus on masculinity. The masseuse works slowly, attentively and at your pace, with warm oil.
- Boundaries. You agree on the scope of the massage before the session and can change it at any time.
What happens during a lingam massage – step by step
This is how a session looks at Rose & Wine:
- A short conversation. You agree with the masseuse on your expectations and boundaries. It is a good moment for questions, especially if it is your first time.
- Shower. Fresh towels and a shower are waiting in a private room – before and after the massage.
- Full-body relaxation. The session opens with a relaxing massage that helps you calm down and unwind.
- Lingam massage. The masseuse focuses on your masculinity – slowly, attentively, with warm oil. In longer sessions this stage is repeated two or three times.
- Calm. At the end there is time to rest and shower before you return to everyday life.
Lingam massage vs tantric massage – what is the difference?
| Tantric massage | Lingam massage | |
|---|---|---|
| For whom | for everyone | for men |
| Scope | the whole body | the whole body, then the male intimate area |
| Focus | breath, calm, conscious awareness | male energy and releasing tension |
| Pace | very slow | slow, adjusted to you |
Lingam massage is therefore the male version of tantric massage. Read more about tantra in our guide what is tantric massage, and if you are looking for more intense body-to-body contact, see what is nuru massage.

Who is lingam massage for?
Lingam massage is chosen by men who want to truly relax, switch off from stress and feel their body differently than in everyday life. It is also a good option for those who already know classic massage and are looking for something more intimate, in a calm and unhurried form. No experience is needed – the masseuse will guide you through the session step by step.
Lingam massage is a form of relaxation, not therapy. If you have health problems – for example an infection, skin conditions or pelvic complaints – consult a doctor first.
How to prepare for a lingam massage
- Plan your visit without rushing – a moment of calm after the session is worth it.
- Avoid a heavy meal right before the massage and don’t come under the influence of alcohol.
- You don’t need to bring anything – towels, a shower and oils are provided.
- Tell the masseuse what worries you or what you don’t want. Your boundaries matter more than the session plan.
